FILM & TV

Our actors have been kept busy with an interesting array of film and TV projects.

The irrepressible Catherine Lee was cast in the role of 'Mrs Li', the feisty landlady, in the recent docu-drama 'Eruption' by the Gibson Group. She will also be making an appearance in the animated film 'Yogi Bear' as a 'Camper' in the fictional Jellystone Park, a take-off on the famous Yellowstone National Park.

Alvin Maharaj, an incredible talent, will be appearing opposite Rhys Darby and Sally Hawkins in a new romantic comedy, 'Love Birds' in the role of 'Gurneesh'. The film was directed by Paul Murphy and produced by Matthew Metcalfe and Alan Harris.

THEATRE

The very talented Melissa Nordhaus secured the role of 'Maureen Johnson' in the celebrated musical 'RENT' opposite Annie Crummer. Melissa was also nominated and won the '2009 NAPTA Award'for Best Lead Actress in a Musical for the role of Eponine in Les Miserables'.

Clayton Curnow who had an active time on 'Starlight Express' has now been cast in another much loved musical '42nd Street' in the role of 'Andy Lee'. Well done, Clayton.

Thomas Webster had a brilliant run in the the musical 'CATS'playing the effervescent role of 'Skimbleshank'. The show was directed by Grant Meese with Penny Dodd as Musical Director.

Our lovable Leand Macadaan aka 'Mexi Doug' who last appeared in 'RENT' as 'Paul', has been confirmed to play the roles of 'General Wong' and ' Warlord Rat' in the much anticipated 'The Secret of Dong Ting Lake' an ORYZA Foundation production.

THE DOCUMENTARY EDGE FESTIVAL 2011

Good luck to the Documentary Edge Festival which will commence on the 16th February in Auckland. The festival is co-directed by Alex Lee and Dan Shanan. Rajneel Singh directed the 2011 TVCs starred Anne Marie Lockett, David Tetter, Zachary White and Gabrielle Tetter. The TVCs were realised by Afterglow.
