FILM & TV

Our actors have been very busy of late.

Congratulations to Catherine Lee who recently finished filming the docu-drama 'Eruption' directed by Danny Mulheron. Catherine played the featured character, Mrs Li. Catherine will also be making an appearance in 'Yogi Bear'.

We also congratulate Janet Chan who has been cast in the role of 'Aunty May' in the feature film 'Girl Meets Boy'. This feature film was developed from the documentary 'Banana in a Nutshell'. Charles Chan also joined the cast in a supporting role. The director is Roseanne Liang. The film comes from South Pacific Pictures.

Congratulations to Alvin Maharaj who has scored a major supporting role in a new romantic comedy

Congratulations to our young actor, Cameron White, who secured the role of 'Francis' in the feature film 'Hopes & Dreams' directed by Brendan Donovan

Congratulations also to Steven Smith for his featured role in the much talked about drama series, 'Spartacus'.

Well done to Sascha Moore who was cast in the role of 'Monica' in Legend Of The Seeker

Congratulations to Gagan Kaur who made an appearance in the feature film 'After the Waterfall'.

Our lovable Leand Macadaan aka'Mexi Doug'will reappear on-screen to support the Earth Hour campaign.

Kathleen McNeil played the role of Joanne McCarthy in 'Beyond the Darklands'. Melanie Hull was Simone Butler in another episode of 'Beyond the Darklands'.
Jenny Christian worked in the film 'Longing for Your Affection' while David Vickovich featured in 'The Fall Guys'.

Not to forget, Mei Chan's film 'Love & Luksaah' was nominated as a finalist for Best Short Film in the Asian Festival of First Films. The film starred Ezra Low and Charles Chan.


THEATRE

Following Thomas Webster's run in 'Cats" and Clayton Curnow in 'Starlight Express', Melissa Nordhaus has been cast as 'Maureen Johnson', one of the leading roles in the upcoming musical 'Rent' (THE CIVIC THEATRE, 22 April - 7 May). Melissa recently won Best Lead Actress in a Musical for the role of 'Eponine' in Les Miserables. Leand Macadaan will also be appearing in 'Rent'.

Congratulations to Peter Huang who secured leading roles in 'The Bone Feeder'and 'Breathe'directed by Renee Liang and Simon Zhou respectively

We also congratulate Danielle White for being nominated as Best Supporting Female in a Musical as Cosette, Les Miserables.

Comedian, Hiroshi Nakatsuji, will be playing a key role in the upcoming stage show 'Don't Spit The Water' based on the US game show of the same name. He will be playing Yamamoto, the crazy samurai sidekick of Te Radar, the host of the show. The show runs from the 5th - 8th May at the Maidment Theatre


THE DOCUMENTARY EDGE AWARDS

Liam Fennell and Melanie Hull were chosen to be the presenters for the 2010 Documentary Edge Awards held at Raye Freedman Arts Centre. Both Liam and Melanie worked beautifully together.
